The film evokes a feeling similar to what you’d get if everyone were made from those flimsy metal coat hangers found at the dry cleaner's; it's surprisingly unsettling. The hats are key—they're how you distinguish characters as the woman and man separate at the train station, and she goes on to her hotel where another young man presents her with a neatly arranged flower. What’s happening here? It seems that when someone unexpected shows up at their hotel, things become considerably more complicated than they appear. I understand this was created using a laptop, but it's not obvious from viewing it; what struck me most was the story's straightforwardness, the characters' minimalist design, and the rather desolate—almost reminiscent of Orwell—locations for this encounter with an unexpected turn. It’s definitely worth dedicating ten minutes to.
