Mama Retreat has an interesting premise that could translate well into a feature film, but this brief presentation doesn't fully develop the characters or their history. The beginning is appealing, however, the central problem isn’t very compelling, resulting in a fairly standard storyline and a somewhat unexpected resolution. Even with good-looking imagery and acceptable performances, it doesn’t stick with you afterward; it’s still an enjoyable short thriller to view.
