It's a genuinely enjoyable film about "Willie" (played by Ronald Colman), the carefree son of "Lord Leland" (Frederick Kerr), who comes back home from another unsuccessful escapade in Africa with nothing but debts. It doesn’t take long before his persuasive nature helps him mend fences with his father, and he also manages to capture the interest of linoleum heiress "Dorothy" (Loretta Young), who was previously charmed by the similarly impoverished "Grand Duke Paul" (Paul Cavanagh). This sets up a lighthearted romantic rivalry. Colman is excellent in the role, and the writing keeps things moving along at a pleasant pace as his personality proves irresistible. Myrna Loy and David Hope also contribute some enjoyable moments, making it an agreeable way to spend an afternoon.
