Matteo Razzouki-Safardi manages to take center stage in this enjoyable, Dickensian-feeling Parisian short film, even without uttering a single line. The story begins with “Philippe” (played by Philippe Pollet-Villard) and his associate “Richard” (Richard Morgiève), who earn money by posing as police officers and capturing a group of pickpockets. While they perform the arrests, other members of their team search the bags and pockets of people nearby, and afterward, they split the stolen goods. However, one particular operation doesn't go according to plan; before anyone can react, actual law enforcement officials have arrested their accomplices and left them looking like innocent bystanders. During the confusion, “Richard” finds himself with an unexpected companion. They return to their hotel, but this young boy persistently follows them, despite their attempts to deter him. The next day, they consider using him to help them rob some unsuspecting tourists, but that scheme quickly falls apart. When “Richard” takes the boy to a movie theater, it’s as if they have their own little informant. Champagne and bowling are next on the agenda. "Philippe" has trouble keeping his ball within the designated lane, becoming annoyed by a group of loud men in the neighboring alleyway... I must admit, I was anticipating a different resolution, but what we receive feels appropriate, and throughout its runtime, this is genuinely an amusing comedy that makes you want to support the thieves.
