The film employs a substantial amount of historical footage to present what it sets out to do. With narration exhibiting more thought than many similar productions created during the Second World War, this documentary aims to show its audience an examination of the dangers confronting the United States from the Axis powers and the military strength that the USA possesses and will continue to develop in order to fight these adversaries on both coasts. Naturally, it isn’t intended to generate fear within the population, so there's a minor propagandistic aspect present; however, it also makes certain that their opponents are impressively organized, well-equipped, and militarized, and even conveys a feeling of regard for those enemies and their capabilities. It is this sense of respect that allows the documentary to feel like a more truthful assessment of conditions in 1943. Furthermore, it demonstrates the talent and bravery of the photographers and cameramen who were able to film events closely from the air, at sea, and on land. In its final statement, suggesting that this conflict can be won but that triumph is not guaranteed or simple, it provides a viewing experience that isn't overly enthusiastic.
