I found myself liking this silly crime story centered around high-end watches, even though the plot gets tangled up occasionally. "Vincent" (Edan Lui) is remarkably skilled at producing imitation timepieces; he gathers authentic components but isn’t just some low-cost vendor. He also runs a business verifying valuable watches for wealthy clients who are unfortunately inclined to believe his assessments! The story involves "Uncle" (Keung To), the local mob boss—who appears quite young—wanting three unique watches supposedly once owned by Picasso and lost after he died. These have surfaced at an auction in Tokyo, so “Vincent” is persuaded to participate in the scheme alongside his good-looking friend "Yoh" (Anson Lo) and two associates – the "Chief" (Louis Cheung) and his not-very-bright enforcer "Mario" (Michael Ning). They soon find themselves in Japan devising a complicated plan to steal them. “Vincent” has always been fascinated by the "Moonwatch"—the watch Buzz Aldrin wore on the moon—which has also vanished. When this, too, appears at the same jewelry store, the whole carefully planned operation starts to unravel, prompting the prospective thieves to reconsider their actions, reasons for doing so, and the intentions of their young boss back home. Lui is pretty good as the tech-savvy thief, and the story moves along at a reasonable speed; the drama, mixed with some humor and an amusing heist sequence, unfolds well until the somewhat hectic ending. That resolution felt a little messy, but it manages to pull through thanks to competent production values, a relatively lean script, and several enjoyable performances from a cast that seemed to be having fun with this project.
