I’ve consistently found Disney’s *The Hunchback of Notre Dame* appealing. What I appreciate most about the movie is its atmosphere; it gets surprisingly dark at times and the animation itself is quite beautiful. There's also a large number of characters to connect with, including Quasimodo, Esmeralda, Frollo, Phoebus, and Clopin. The musical score is exceptionally well done as well. The voice acting across the board is fantastic, bringing each character to life effectively. Tom Hulce does a commendable job in his primary role, while Demi Moore performs admirably alongside him. Tony Jay delivers an intimidating portrayal of the villain. Kevin Kline and Paul Kandel deserve recognition too, along with those who voiced the gargoyles Victor, Hugo, and Laverne. The songs are all decent, though not particularly unforgettable—with one clear exception: "The Bells of Notre Dame." It's Alan Menken’s music that truly elevates the film, perfectly complementing each scene; especially the opening sequence, which is captivating to watch. This is a strong movie released in 1996.
