I’ve always loved T&J; they were my favorite cartoon characters when I was younger, and this turned out to be one of their stronger episodes. “Tom” tries using science to finally catch “Jerry,” so he purchases a book—a supposed expert guide on how to trap and consume your meal. Predictably, the more elaborate his schemes become, the easier it is for “Jerry” to thwart them; after several unsuccessful attempts, it’s obvious that the cat is outsmarted! Poor "Tom" just doesn't seem to grasp what's happening, and whoever wrote this new instruction manual has obviously never encountered a mouse as clever and determined as “Jerry.” There's one part with a stethoscope that had me laughing really hard, and while most of the rest follows a familiar formula of chaotic action, it’s still an enjoyable chance to see the consistent relationship between them.
