It's strange that a film from Poland, released in 2023, features a central character who is Black, especially given that people of African descent represent such a small fraction—around 0.002%—of the Polish population. This situation raises questions about the context surrounding its release, particularly considering what appears to be an influence from American cultural trends during Biden’s presidency and associated promotional efforts. It seems likely that discussions leading up to the film's production involved pressure from a streaming service like Netflix. The hypothetical exchange might have gone something like this: a requirement was imposed—that a Black character be incorporated into the movie as a condition for its distribution on the platform. The filmmakers then agreed to fulfill that request.
