The loss of his friend and fellow squadron leader, David Scott, weighs heavily on Quint Munroe, prompting him to consider leaving the group. However, he’s then asked to lead a vital mission: bombing a château in German-occupied France that serves as a factory for dangerous flying bombs. The operation requires an experimental bouncing bomb delivered with pinpoint accuracy, and they want Quint's expertise to ensure success. Adding another layer of complexity, Quint finds himself developing feelings for David’s widow, Beth. The story also introduces a mystery: why have the Germans sent a roll of film to the base? Honestly, this isn't a good movie; it feels like a collection of better films haphazardly assembled. David McCallum, who was so essential to the success of *The Great Escape*, seems out of his depth as the lead here. Charles Gray’s appearance suggests that playing Blofeld was undoubtedly a highlight in his career, and the rest of the cast mostly just seem covered in dirt. Director Boris Sagal would have been better off sticking to television work, and I sincerely hope the writers felt ashamed to receive payment for their contributions. Despite all my complaints, I’m giving it a relatively high score of 3/10. The miniature effects are passable, and Frank Cordell's musical score deserves a much stronger film to accompany it, while editor John S. Smith should be commended for his boldness. Ultimately, this is one you can skip; the kind of movie that used to play before the main attraction in a double bill. Instead, watch *The Dam Busters* or *633 Squadron* to understand how far short this film falls from being enjoyable. 3/10
