Even after three decades, the 1995 Mortal Kombat remains the strongest entry in this series. Online discussions suggested that this film surpassed the 2021 remake, which it does to some degree, though it’s still pretty awful. I'm struggling to understand why the performances are so poor. The fight sequences also disappoint. Shao Kahn is just… something else! It's hard to buy him as a fearsome ruler; how did he manage that?! Cole Young took him down! Liu Kang beat him! Kitana defeated him! I’m guessing plot armor is the only reason he wasn’t taken out by Kitana’s father, because almost everyone manages to best him. Seriously, what is going on? The Punisher: One Last Kill was terrible, this one's a mess too – what else will turn out badly? I wonder what’s coming out next. What other films have been praised online that are actually just as bad? Obsession?! Perhaps even that is not good! I suppose I’ll find out soon enough. Kitana, Kano, and Baraka were enjoyable, but their dialogue was still terrible.
