This movie stands out as remarkable, though primarily through its depiction of LGBT experiences, something I wholeheartedly endorse. However, setting aside that aspect, I wasn't impressed with the filmmaking itself. It gave me the impression the story unfolded somewhere in Africa, yet everyone seemed to have an American accent. I didn’t notice a single person who was white or of another ethnicity, not even in the background scenes. What did work well was the intriguing subject matter and storyline; I really enjoyed it. The film explores three distinct stages of life and demonstrates how external factors shape someone's character—sometimes positively, but often with significant upheaval, as portrayed here. While the conclusion felt straightforward, I appreciated the initial segment, which showed considerable promise for a more meaningful message. Ultimately, it’s a realistic portrayal of a life cycle, reminiscent of a condensed, small-town version of 'Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring'. The acting was superb across the board, and the screenplay is an adaptation of a book. It seems like this represents a significant achievement for the director, and I'm eager to see what he creates next. This isn’t a film everyone will enjoy, largely due to its central theme. The beginning was acceptable, but later developments took it in surprising directions; it’s definitely one of the better films released this year, though not necessarily the absolute best. _7/10_
