A character identified only as "Vector," wearing a spacesuit and sporting a plastic goldfish bowl for a helmet, discovers himself marooned on the moon’s surface. He has numerous devices available to him, but his lack of skill means he mostly stumbles around in a manner reminiscent of Laurel and Hardy. It is then that he meets a bespectacled and amiable "Minion," but predictably reacts with immediate distrust, unwilling to work alongside this potential yellow companion. The resulting animation feels rather bland, bringing to mind those heavily narrated Disney cartoons from the 1950s that incorporated scientific explanations. The film seems to want to teach lessons about gravity, aerodynamics, or rocketry—or perhaps more importantly, about working together and avoiding hasty decisions. There's a fairly amusing cameo appearance near the conclusion by someone arriving from even farther out in space, and while it’s an undemanding nine minutes of work from Illumination, it isn’t particularly memorable.
