I found myself appreciating this movie quite a bit. In fact, I've already watched it twice, and I plan to watch it again sometime. It struck me more as suspenseful than an action-packed thriller; that’s the distinction Hitchcock once made between an explosion happening and the anticipation of one possibly occurring. Adding someone with a muscular physique or a revealing outfit wouldn't have enhanced it, in my opinion. This film presents a unique take on alien invasion narratives. It almost seems as if these invaders simply stumbled onto the planet, like tipsy visitors, only to discover they can’t assimilate or depart and are instead embroiled in one barroom brawl after another. That comparison isn't perfect, but it conveys my sense that their goal isn't conquest; rather, they seem intent on attempting to live normal lives. I appreciated how the bond between the two main characters gradually deepened from what seemed like dislike, or at least indifference. It makes me wonder if the film’s title has a straightforward meaning while also hinting at something darker about the creatures within ourselves. I came across information suggesting that beings built like these couldn't physically walk upright as depicted in the movie. However, they do. I can disregard an error in scientific accuracy when the overall experience is positive. While I have my doubts about the existence of multiple universes, many respected physicists believe it’s possible, so there’s a thin line between imaginative science and implausible storylines. What I mean to say is that accurate science isn't essential for me in science fiction. I genuinely enjoy stories involving time travel, even though most don't bother with making the concept seem plausible. So, yes, I liked this film, and you might as well if you allow yourself to.
