It was a genuinely amusing experience. I had not anticipated 'Moana' being as lighthearted and comical as it turned out to be; because of that, the more dramatic conclusion felt somewhat disconnected, although I remained entertained for the duration. The visuals are pleasing, and the musical score is dependable—though, personally, Maui’s “You’re Welcome” is the only song that really stuck with me. Dwayne Johnson portrays Maui, delivering a consistently excellent performance; it was an apparent choice, but a good one nonetheless. Auliʻi Cravalho (Moana) and Rachel House (Tala) also do well in their parts. I imagined it would be more impressive, however that doesn’t detract from the fact that this is a film worth enjoying.
