Among the initial Mission: Impossible movies—the only ones I’ve watched so far—this one feels like the most solid offering. Even after ten years, it retains what the series has consistently been recognized for, and its shortcomings are familiar as well. The storyline shares similarities with the very first film; however, _M:I:III_ does have an advantage over earlier installments in that its antagonist is considerably more impactful than those previously encountered. Though he might not be positioned as the central bad guy, Seymour-Hoffman (may he rest) creates a genuinely frightening presence as Owen Davian, an international arms dealer. Still, while this third film is undeniably the most captivating one yet, I found myself looking at the time before it concluded, so I can’t offer it high praise. _Final rating:★★ - It had elements that resonated with me, but ultimately didn't quite work out._
