I'm wondering if this _Mission: Impossible_ film just needs to be seen in theaters to truly appreciate it, because I haven’t been connecting with the series. Even after fifteen years since the initial movie came out, it still seems somewhat scattered and frivolous to me, even though I recognize how popular it is. However, despite the fact that the antagonist here isn't on par with Phillip Seymour-Hoffman in _M:I:III_, I do think this installment is the best one yet. It appears they’ve finally realized women can have roles beyond being helpless characters or decorative elements. They haven’t gone too far past that, but it’s a welcome change. This film also incorporates some humor, which benefits a series that has always been somewhat lacking in seriousness. _Final rating:★★½ - There was a lot I liked about it, but it didn't quite gel._
