Mission Cross falls flat. The humor feels artificial and corny right from the start. The plot itself is convoluted and moves at an unhurried pace. If this movie had drawn inspiration from something like "Mr and Mrs Smith," it might have been enjoyable. As it stands, though, the entire experience is unremarkable and mostly dull. Even the action set pieces feel hurried and generic. There’s also a familiar dose of predictable female empowerment tropes—men portrayed as feeble and clumsy—which contributes to the overall sense of mediocrity surrounding this film. I suppose the acting could be considered a minor positive, if not for the clear absence of any spark or connection between the main characters. Ultimately, it’s a forgettable Korean action comedy reminiscent of "Mr and Mrs Smith," barely worth your time.
