Missing follows a similar structure to Searching and develops those ideas further. The movie incorporates new uses of technology, viewed through the eyes of a younger character, showcasing innovations that have emerged since 2018. The editing was really well done, with some inventive combinations of apps during certain sequences. Although the performances aren’t quite as strong as in the first film, largely because John Cho isn't present, the cast is adequate enough to keep the story feeling plausible. For me personally, this movie proved more captivating than its predecessor; the speed and suspense were heightened, making for a very focused viewing experience. I checked my phone expecting the film to be only thirty minutes in, but it had already been over an hour—it really went by quickly. There are numerous surprises throughout the story, some predictable, others genuinely shocking. Near the conclusion, a particular plot development almost made me lose interest, but then it recovered and prevented it from spoiling everything. I would have preferred a more satisfying resolution, but generally speaking, it's an excellent film that builds upon what came before. Score: 81% Verdict: Great
