It’s not something I would watch again, and I can't suggest it to anyone. I initially marked that I "liked" this film while preparing to write my thoughts, but then realized I don’t actually enjoy it, despite all its flaws. The narrative itself is fairly good, but some of the attempts at humor actively undermine what could have been a better experience. The main issue is that the lead performer lacks the necessary charisma for the part; he could still be portrayed as someone timid and sympathetic, but needs to connect with the audience from the very beginning. Another problem, which probably makes things harder for the actor, is that the "best friend" character has an over-the-top personality and is excessively foolish to a degree that becomes annoying. There are numerous instances where the film pauses just so we can witness him acting silly. The fundamental issue revolves around the rhythm of events. The movie seems intent on surprising and impressing, but it doesn't develop anything; instead, it throws random things at the screen to see if they work, then forces you to watch while asking, "Wasn’t that wild?" I would be interested in seeing a polished version with more capable performers—Craig Robinson is easily the most talented actor involved, and he has a small role that seems specifically designed around one of the film's worst jokes.
