I’m definitely fond of sports movies, and it seems Disney makes quite a few! *Miracle* works well, recounting the story of the 1980 Winter Olympics hockey game between the United States and the Soviet Union. The way they weave in happenings from around the world can occasionally feel a bit contrived, but I understand what they were attempting to do—it doesn’t really detract from it, though. Kurt Russell is excellent as Herb Brooks; he's easily the most captivating character and performer. He really embodies that part. Noah Emmerich gives an adequate performance too, and so do the actors playing the players—though I don’t recall them particularly well. The music is good, like most aspects of this movie. It might run a little long; they could have removed about thirty minutes without it impacting anything significantly. Still, it doesn't feel slow. Ultimately, this 2004 film is absolutely worth seeing.
