I’ve been meaning to watch “Millions,” which I found on Disney+, for some time now, and wasn’t sure if it was something originally made by Disney or a purchase they made from elsewhere. Still, I'd noticed it on the service before and finally decided to check it out. The film centers around two brothers who unexpectedly find themselves in possession of a considerable amount of money. One brother is eager to put the money to work and increase its value, while the other begins experiencing visions of people from Jesus’ era and feels driven to give the money away to those in need. As things progress, the brothers disagree about what to do with their good fortune, which creates tension and forces them to make some difficult choices. Things get strange when saints, apostles, and other spiritual figures start appearing to one of the brothers. Then, unexpectedly, it’s revealed that the money didn't come from a divine source but was actually obtained through theft. This discovery shakes the boy’s beliefs and makes both the characters and those watching wonder about the point of all these spiritual experiences. The movie seems to get confused trying to balance its religious aspects with the story’s focus on money. The main character, who is already a sensitive and compassionate child, becomes disheartened when he learns where the money really came from, which makes you question what the film is actually trying to say and how important these supernatural events are supposed to be. Ultimately, “Millions” seems to wander off track, leaving viewers wondering about the central point of the story and whether the spiritual elements truly fit in. The attempt to combine spirituality with material concerns ends up resulting in a disconnected and disappointing experience.
