It’s true that *Memory* isn’t awful, however, its pacing feels sluggish for what it aims to be—an action-packed thriller—and it lacks a certain grit needed for a crime story. Ultimately, *Memory* just doesn't leave much of an impression. I really enjoy watching Liam Neeson’s movies; he’s been in so many iconic roles, from training Batman and Obi-Wan to leading the A-Team and Men in Black, not to mention delivering what is arguably one of cinema’s most impressive phone calls. Films like *Non-Stop*, *The Commuter*, and *The Grey* were all good, but it's clear he isn't as young as he used to be, which means his action films are naturally moving at a slower speed. The script for *Memory* seemed to acknowledge this while still allowing Neeson to engage in some action sequences. It’s better than some of his more recent movies like *The Marksman* and *Blacklight*, though I do long for the earlier days of *Taken* or *Kingdom of Heaven*. I had anticipated a lot from Martin Campbell's direction, but I found myself checking my phone during most of the film. It’s not bad, per se, but it would have benefited from being darker and more intense to keep me engaged. In conclusion, there isn’t much you’ll want to remember about *Memory*. Still, Neeson remains a great performer!
