It proved to be a difficult film to get through, particularly in the initial section; so much of it felt obscured by darkness that seemed possibly intended to cover up some shortcomings with the special effects—it was often hard to discern what I was looking at. While there were scattered instances reminiscent of the charm found in the first installment, these weren’t frequent enough to hold my attention. Jason Statham did a decent job considering the material he had to work with, but ultimately, it felt like an unproductive use of time. **2.0/5**
