Shiela, portrayed by Kaley Cuoco, possesses a remarkable ability: time travel. While her journeys are brief, they allow her to impact the lives of those around her. Her connection with Gary, played by Pete Davidson, sets in motion ninety minutes of complicated storytelling that illustrates their developing relationship and Shiela’s attempts to improve his life through her powers. Predictably, things don't unfold as intended; numerous obstacles arise, and the audience is forced to experience them alongside the characters. The show explores an intriguing concept—what actions might we take to assist those we care about in confronting or preventing difficult experiences—but neither performer truly succeeds in engaging viewers with this underwhelming and overly talkative sequence of superficial situations that conclude in a manner easily anticipated. It often becomes quite uncomfortable to watch, and ultimately I felt no investment in whether they survived Santa’s runaway sleigh. This is decidedly average Christmas television programming—and it's destined to be quickly forgotten.
