People will go to extreme lengths for love, but taking $17 million feels like an overreaction. This movie brought 'Pain & Gain' to mind, except it’s based on true events and aims for comedy. Beyond that shared element, they don’t really have much in common. I had high hopes after ‘The Hangover,’ but Zack’s projects often fall short of their potential. It isn’t the film he needed to revitalize his career, though I did find it quite entertaining. A man with a clean record, employed as a bank security guard, is contacted by an old acquaintance and her associates with a proposition. Because of his intense feelings for her, he accepts despite already being engaged to someone else. The heist unfolds according to plan, but afterward, he’s abandoned and betrayed. Now fleeing, the choices he makes and what happens next determine his future. It's not a particularly strong comedy or a thrilling heist movie, but there were definitely some enjoyable parts. The actors were well-chosen, and Zack carried the film effectively; most of the supporting cast didn’t shine as much, with the exception of the ending. Jason Sudeikis was a welcome addition, adding to the enjoyment. Now I understand why Jim Carrey declined the role. Owen Wilson felt miscast in such a minor part, although he performed adequately. It's perfectly acceptable to watch it for casual entertainment, and even going beyond that wouldn’t be a waste of time. _7/10_
