The character Hatcher (played by Steven Seagal) is pulled back into action when a group of Jamaican drug traffickers seeks payback against him and his loved ones for a past incident where he eliminated one of their members while working as a DEA agent. Following some early confrontations, he joins forces with two companions – “Max,” an exceptionally dangerous football coach (Keith David), and Chicago police officer "Charles" (Tom Wright) – to track down "Screwface" (Basil Wallace). The film follows a predictable formula, lacking any fresh ideas, and it can be quite violent, which is fairly typical for a Steven Seagal movie. Much of the spoken lines ("I'd give you the sweat off my balls!") are best ignored, and the performances from Seagal and everyone else aren’t particularly good. It does offer constant action sequences, keeping things moving throughout, but afterward, it leaves you questioning how Seagal ever achieved such popularity at the box office. He possesses no charisma, a trait shared by much of this unremarkable revenge story.
