The title suggests someone adrift and searching for their way back, and honestly, going into this film, I was completely in the dark about what it entailed—I didn’t know anything about the cast or its release date. On a whim, I decided to watch it without looking at any plot summaries, and I ended up feeling pretty good about it; not entirely thrilled, but the story and the characters were engaging. It's an atypical drama set in an area populated by Hollywood figures. The film begins with a young woman’s arrival there, and she quickly finds herself presented with the chance to work as a personal assistant to a well-known artist. It also explores other people's narratives, creating a story with many different threads that are ultimately interwoven, especially towards the end. Unmasking everyone’s motivations behind their actions is what brings the story to its resolution. The narrative isn’t straightforward; it’s something else entirely, possessing a futuristic feel. I appreciated the acting performances. Robert Pattinson had a smaller part, but others like Mia Wasikowska and Julianne Moore were quite good. Because the film centers around a group of celebrity characters, there are no actual famous people involved—just actors playing fictional names. It’s difficult to anticipate where things are headed; I wasn't certain until everything was revealed at the close. That final reveal was pretty surprising; it wasn’t what I anticipated, but that's part of the appeal. The film is generally acceptable, just a little short of being truly excellent. I think it’s worth seeing if you’re looking for something different. _6.5/10_
