I find _Mandy_ to be a film very much in line with my tastes, though it isn’t flawless. It's safe to say I appreciated all the elements that make up _Mandy_, like the visuals, the music, the violence, and any other unusual touches it might have. However, _Mandy_ takes an incredibly long time to really begin. Usually, a slow pace wouldn’t bother me, but my issue with this film is that the first half, which serves as setup, didn't give me much sense of what the connection was like between the main characters. This should have been the most crucial aspect of the story; it drives everything important that follows—but I honestly couldn't tell if they even liked one another. There was ample opportunity to develop their relationship, and it essentially wasn’t done. However, once the actual movie gets underway, that initial slow burn is largely forgotten, and you can simply enjoy the striking visuals and overall style. _Final rating:★★★½ - I genuinely enjoyed this film.
