This film isn’t for mass audiences; it occupies a very specific space—a blend of psychedelic visuals, horror elements, and touches of humor. It really resonated with me. There are some truly striking images and sequences, packed with surreal imagery. So much is happening on screen. My initial impression is that certain portions might have benefited from being trimmed down, but I’m not entirely sure... I'll need to see it again. And I am eager to do so. Nic Cage’s unique style of performance felt like a perfect match for the material. I believe the bathroom scene, despite feeling somewhat disconnected from the rest, is a quintessential Nic Cage moment—unexpected and jarring; the acting in that specific instance wasn't particularly strong, but it was undeniably him. I anticipated I would probably enjoy this movie, yet I’d braced myself for potential disappointment. That didn’t happen at all. I suspect it’s on its way to becoming a cult favorite.
