It wasn’t an enjoyable experience, and I don’t plan to revisit it or suggest it to anyone else. The promotional material misrepresented what this film actually is: it suggested a lighthearted adventure that becomes serious, but it felt more akin to "Don't Breathe" than anything like “Scooby Doo.” My biggest issue lies with the plot’s unnecessary focus on needing money; I found it completely pointless and a distraction. Florence Pugh gave an admirable performance trying to hold the film together, and Celia Imrie was effective at portraying a disturbing elderly woman, but I believe her character suffered from poor writing that prevented her from doing more. The core narrative—the events unfolding onscreen—is quite compelling, and I was surprised to learn it’s from 2020. With better production quality and a stronger ensemble cast, this could have easily become something people were discussing. Although it doesn't reach the extreme distress of "Girl Next Door," it’s still unsettling enough to evoke sympathy for the spirits involved; however, I didn’t connect with any of the main characters and couldn't understand why I should care about them. Frequently, I felt frustrated that they were continuing their ghostly activities due to all the conflict early on.
