This film offers an interesting take on the familiar Sleeping Beauty story. Angelina Jolie delivers some truly memorable scenes; even a subtle smile from her can be surprisingly intense, though the storytelling feels uneven at times. Elle Fanning doesn’t quite fit the role of “the Beauty,” similar to how Kristen Stewart didn't seem right for Snow White. Jolie dominates the part, much like Charlize Theron overshadowed Stewart in her film. Sharito Copley gives a strong performance, as is typical, and the special effects are quite good.
