I'm consistently searching for what could be considered a modern slasher icon. I definitely enjoy characters like Jason Voorhees, but I’m interested in seeing if anyone else can create something new and memorable enough to stand alongside them. It rarely seems to succeed, and Damion Yule from _Madison County_ doesn’t change that perception. There are some good scenes here and there, and I did appreciate the deliberate pacing of the film, but the overall lack of polish and underdeveloped plot prevent me from suggesting it. _Final rating:★★ - It had elements I liked, but ultimately didn't come together well._
