That low rating is surprising! To be honest, I really did have a good time watching *'Madame Web'*, and maybe I shouldn’t admit that. I’m struggling to explain exactly why, but I found it adequately entertaining. There are likely numerous plot inconsistencies (I picked up on some), and it probably isn’t a faithful representation of the original material or anything like that, but frankly, I didn’t let any of that bother me; I got enough enjoyment out of it not to overthink things. The actors were likely the biggest reason I enjoyed this film. I was familiar with Dakota Johnson, but hadn't really seen her in much, and I thought she gave a very good performance—she carries the movie well. Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, and Celeste O’Connor are also pluses. Tahar Rahim’s villain, on the other hand, felt poorly conceived and executed, even though I personally think the actor did what he could with the part. Honestly, I have no complaints about any of the performers. Beyond that, the pacing and music were also highlights. Thinking back to watching it, I really don't have many problems with this movie. If not for the negative buzz I heard beforehand (though I try to avoid that sort of thing) and the reactions people are posting afterward, I wouldn’t be second-guessing my opinion at all. As I always say, everyone has different tastes. For me, I'd like a sequel—as long as the cast is back, anyway. And I’m not apologizing for it.
