The film *M3GAN* doesn't offer anything entirely new to the genre of killer robots or artificial intelligence rebelling against their creators, yet I found myself consistently engaged during its duration. Akela Cooper’s initial concept is stretched—and even surpassed—thanks to strong acting, a witty story with satirical elements, some surprising violent scenes, and thoughtful ideas about raising children in an age dominated by technology. It avoids pretension and remains true to itself. It's not a work of cinematic brilliance, but I wish all horror movies released in January were this enjoyable. Rating: B
