I’m pleased to say I enjoyed this film as much as I enjoy the series. It took a surprisingly long time for me to watch it, as it's been on my list since it came out more than a year ago; honestly, I had been putting off subscribing to Netflix because of their costs, but I’m getting a decent price right now. It’s categorized as a crime thriller and it definitely kept me engaged—I had a really good time watching it. I appreciated seeing how the story unfolded. Often these kinds of movies reveal what happened early on and then just stretch out the suspense of “will they get caught?” for most of the movie's length. While there’s still an element of that cat-and-mouse game, I think it’s well done because there are constant developments that raise the stakes; throughout the film, the plot felt consistently interesting to me, which is a big benefit. Considering how much I like the television series this is based on, it shouldn't be surprising that Idris Elba is one of my favorite actors—he’s just incredible, and I won’t change my mind about that. He’s superb throughout *Luther: The Fallen Sun*. Besides his performance, Andy Serkis is impressively menacing; they really made his character truly awful! Cynthia Erivo and Dermot Crowley also do a great job in supporting roles. I'm hoping for another one!
