The beginning of the movie, from Fool Moon and Charles Band, establishes a conflict that seems destined for some kind of confrontation. I was aware Jeffrey Combs had a role, but discovering Ashley Laurence would appear in this 90s film felt like a pleasant surprise. It appears we're facing something beyond ordinary adversaries, which is generating an enjoyable, classic Sci-Fi Channel atmosphere. What’s particularly pleasing is that alongside the standard antagonists, there are also more unique threats to contend with. The movie evokes a feeling similar to Tales from the Crypt: Demon Night; it can feel drawn out at times, but moments of intense action and craziness keep things engaging. Ashley Laurence is striking, and Jeffrey Combs' dialogue makes me want to watch anything he participates in. It draws inspiration from Lovecraft.
