The premise held promise, yet the final product falls short of expectations—it simply doesn’t find its footing. The narrative follows "Sam," a character plagued by relentless misfortune; if something could go wrong for her or those close to her, it inevitably would. While listlessly waiting at a café, she offers a sandwich to a black cat, unknowingly setting off a chain of events when she learns the feline originates from a realm of good fortune overseen by a dragon (Jane Fonda). Of course, maintaining this balance requires careful management, as bad luck needs containment within a special device. Sam’s appearance threatens this delicate stability. Subsequently, she and the cat "Bob" find themselves in a frantic race against time to prevent their world from descending into disorder. The film feels overly verbose and self-important; I found the overall tone excessively saccharine and cloying. It's an acceptable production with serviceable animation, but at nearly two hours, it feels drawn out and rather slow-paced.
