I regret having checked this out after hearing about it; I simply don't understand what it was trying to do. It reminded me of films like 12 Angry Men and other movies that rely heavily on dialogue, such as Fall from the same year, but this felt lifeless. Essentially, you’re watching people converse about intimacy and others discuss their romantic connections. Before Sunrise explored a similar premise, creating a sense of impending loss throughout; however, this didn't manage to evoke that kind of feeling. It also failed to create any real suspense like many other films centered around dialogue, nor did it elicit much laughter. The characters were well-developed, so I’ll award it 3 stars for that aspect. But I can’t go higher than that. They weren't quirky or unusual enough to be engaging; they just seemed ordinary. Ordinary could have worked if there had been a stronger plot or some kind of objective. Instead, it felt like recounting your relationship with your girlfriend and then sharing those conversations with friends, but without any real purpose or anyone particularly interesting to focus on.
