This movie version of the old television show is a harmlessly mediocre science fiction film; it’s the kind of thing you could easily leave unattended while getting up for refreshments and not realize anything happened. It has a decent cast, with William Hurt, Mimi Rogers, and Gary Oldman being the standouts, though Heather Graham was acceptable and everyone else faded into the background—I certainly had a fondness for Lacey Chabert at the time. The special effects were uneven, and the "Blarp" creature was particularly jarring; it felt like they should have just omitted that sequence if funds were an issue. Like my initial viewing around 1999 or 2000, *Lost in Space* will likely be gone from my memory by tomorrow. **2.5/5**
