I like Jamie Blanks’ work generally, but _Long Weekend_ wasn't something I enjoyed very much. The performances from both of the main actors aren’t good, and while this is arguably part of why the horror works in the film, it still made it difficult to become invested because they are essentially the only people visible for almost the entire runtime. I'll give _Long Weekend_ one star, but add another just for the marine animals. _Final rating:★★ - It had elements that resonated with me, but ultimately didn’t come together well._
