This live-action reimagining of Lilo & Stitch stands out as one of Disney’s most genuinely sweet and heartfelt remakes so far. The movie benefits from appealing performances—Maia Kealoha deserves special recognition—and, of course, an exceptionally cute Stitch. Director Dean Fleischer Camp demonstrates that new takes on familiar stories can work well when approached with genuine feeling and intention. The connection between the human characters and the alien remains central to a straightforward narrative that ultimately reinforces the importance of family. It isn't flawless; however, mirroring its characters, it possesses a certain endearing imperfection, which is entirely sufficient. Rating: B
