While I didn’t connect with *'Licorice Pizza'* quite like many others did, Paul Thomas Anderson’s movie is still worthwhile. Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman are engaging as the main characters, although Haim really shines—Philip Seymour Hoffman’s son also becomes more compelling as the story progresses. There are some fun appearances by familiar actors; I especially liked certain scenes featuring one of them—they were quite amusing! Some elements felt odd though, like the segments involving Japanese wives. I did think the dialogue was a bit affected at times, mainly in the beginning while we’re learning about the characters. Once things settle into place, it's pretty good, honestly. The movie does wander somewhat toward the conclusion; I believe the rhythm is acceptable, but it feels lengthy considering its nearly 130-minute duration—I was aware of each moment as it passed. Overall, I would suggest seeing it. Serious film enthusiasts will likely appreciate it a lot.
