This installment of police action starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover delivers another dose of excitement. Riggs and Murtaugh join forces with an internal affairs officer portrayed by Rene Russo to confront a former police officer, Stuart Wilson, who’s been funneling seized firearms to Los Angeles street gangs. Joe Pesci makes an appearance as well. "Lethal Weapon 3," released in 1992 and directed by Richard Donner, follows a familiar formula for the popular series. It's another exaggerated action movie filled with lighthearted teamwork and quick-witted dialogue. To appreciate it, you need to accept its excesses, similar to other police thrillers like "The Gauntlet" from 1977—though I think that one is better, as are the “Dirty Harry” movies. Among the first three films, I slightly favor the second (from 1989), but this one provides sufficient entertainment value. The movie’s length is 1 hour and 58 minutes; filming took place primarily in the Los Angeles region, with some scenes—such as the building explosion at the end, filmed in St. Petersburg—shot in Florida.
