The _Leprechaun_ movies, like many horror series, began with a somewhat ridiculous idea, initially presented with sincerity before gradually descending into self-aware humor across the later installments. Surprisingly, the initial film isn't particularly comedic, especially when you consider its antagonist—a diminutive Irishman who enjoys skipping, rhyming, and shining shoes. The special effects are inconsistent, the performances aren’t strong, and much of the movie is filmed in such low light that it's hard to see what's happening. Despite these shortcomings, _Leprechaun_ manages to be a decent horror film. _Final rating:★★½ - There was quite a bit I liked about it, but it didn’t fully succeed._
