The LEGO films made for home release aren’t typically impressive, yet I appreciated the effort in this installment to focus on a more intimate narrative. It remained silly and superficial advertising with jokes that didn't quite land, consistent with previous entries, however, there was at least some development of characters beyond simply referencing familiar heroes—"Hey, don't you recall Batman? Don’t you remember Superman?”—and showing them as LEGO figures. There was a bit more to latch onto in this one. _Final rating:★★ - It had elements I enjoyed, but the final result wasn’t well done._
