From the very beginning, the film establishes such an impressive mood that it prepares you to anticipate some kind of frightening and unsettling events happening to the people involved. There’s a considerable amount of shamanistic practices and ceremonies presented early on, which leads you to believe that unusual, chaotic, and bizarre occurrences are coming up quickly. A sense of foreboding descends, and the characters seem to be facing extremely difficult circumstances as they proceed. The forces of good need to discover how to overcome this wave of wickedness, or there will be destruction and violence.
