Harvey Keitel—appearing as seasoned as anyone might imagine, yet still demonstrating considerable skill—plays Meyer Lansky in "Lansky." The film lacks excitement, resembling more the experience of approaching a lukewarm drink. However, its straightforward narrative, with Lansky recounting his story to himself, made it worthwhile for those who appreciate depictions of organized crime and, naturally, Harvey Keitel, whom I greatly admire. A memorable moment occurs in "The Grand Budapest Hotel," when Keitel delivers a line about “two poodles and blonde on a walk in the park,” unexpectedly showcasing his comedic talent as a brilliant mastermind incarcerated at Station 19. While "Lansky" doesn't reach the heights of "Grand Budapest"—few films do—watching Keitel portray one of the most significant (and difficult-to-prosecute) gambling figures of the 20th century during the later years of his life is enjoyable in its own way. It provides a remarkably personal look at his character.
