The striking beauty of the natural world, combined with harsh realities, forms the backdrop for “Land,” Robin Wright's first time directing a film. Wright also appears in the movie as Edee, a woman who must leave behind her familiar life following a devastating event that alters everything she believed in. Overcome with despair and grief, Edee retreats from her former existence, leaving it all behind to find refuge in a remote cabin nestled high in the mountains. Lacking any practical skills for survival, she quickly finds herself struggling with scarce resources and no way to contact anyone.
