_**The fourth installment in the Lake Placid series**_ Black Lake, Maine, which is overrun with crocagators, has been surrounded by a large electrical fence. Problems arise when a bus carrying the Marshfield High swim team mistakenly heads to Black Lake instead of Clear Lake. Elisabeth Röhm portrays the sheriff; Poppy Lee Friar plays her daughter, who becomes an accidental heroine; and Yancy Butler takes on the role of the witty game warden. Paul Nicholls appears as the sheriff’s romantic interest, and Benedict Smith is cast as his son, who develops feelings for the female lead. Robert Englund also makes an appearance as a money-hungry poacher. "Lake Placid: The Final Chapter" (2012) marks the fourth film in the Lake Placid series, and its narrative quality is roughly equivalent to that of the initial 1999 movie; however, it doesn’t have the same level of production quality. While there's a collection of women in the cast, they aren’t as good as those featured in the first two films, although Röhm (the sheriff) and Scarlett Byrne (Brittany) are standouts. Being a third sequel hampered by a television-style budget, it is a disposable horror movie, but it's usually enjoyable for what it offers—a mix of seriousness, humor, and campiness. It even attempts to include a few sincere and touching scenes. The film has a running time of 86 minutes and was filmed in a rural area outside Sofia, Bulgaria. GRADE: C
